St Ives - Cornwall

Date: 15th - 16th April 2023 (back up 29th April - 30th April 2023)
Location: Porthmeor, Cornwall
Categories: Open, Womens, U18, U16, Masters, Grandmasters, Cadets & Single Fin
Main Event Sponsors: Tregenna Castle Resort, Saints Boardriders, St Ives Bid

The Porthmeor Longboard Classic – long held as a jewel in the crown of Cornish tourism, Porthmeor Beach provides one of the most scenic backdrops to any contest. A relative newcomer on the BLU Tour calendar, the golden sands and azure blue waters of St Ives have delivered small, clean and contestable waves that have tickled the fancy of the more traditional longboard style masters and served up more noserides per hour than any other event to date. Don’t be fooled by the relaxed, summery vibe of this contest – come winter Porthmeor can handle big swell with the best of them and has been the proving ground for some of the UK’s finest surfers. Rapidly becoming a firm favourite of the tour.

Saunton - Devon

Date: 1st and 2nd July (Back up 15th and 16th July 2023)
Location: Saunton, North Devon
Categories: Open, Womens, U18, U16, Masters, Grandmasters, Cadets & Single Fin
Main Event Sponsors: TBC

The Saunton Longboard Classic – let’s face it, Saunton IS longboarding. Long, playful righthand walls that reel off for hundreds of yards, it’s not hard to see why this beach has been held in such high regard by longboarders of all persuasions from across the UK for YEARS and why it’s home to the Hotdoggers Longboard Surf Club (think the patrons of the Star Wars Cantina but in wetsuits). When it’s small, it’s super fun. When it’s big, it’s a shoulder-destroying paddle-fest that offers longer rides than most and allows you to go through your entire repertoire of moves and leave you with legs burning. Devon knows how they made this one so gooooood.

Fistral Beach - Cornwall

Date: 16th - 17th September (back Up 30th September - 1st October 2023)
Location: Newquay, Cornwall
Categories: Open, Womens, U18, U16, Masters, Grandmasters, Cadets & Single Fin
Main Event Sponsors: The Stable, Fistral Beach & Newquay Bid

The Stable, Fistral Longboard Classic – love it or loathe it, Fistral Beach is the undisputed centre of surfing in Cornwall, if not the UK. The consistency, wave quality and ease of access from town makes this one of the best home breaks for any water-dweller, despite the equally notorious crowds. For the more progressive longboarders, this is THE event of the year. Surfable from low to high – fast and hollow at times, playful and just a joy to surf at others – Fistral has quickly established itself as the perfect event to finish off the tour and often provides a dramatic twist in the tale that makes or breaks many a longboarder’s season. The always enthusiastically noisy beach crowd give high tide heats an extra kick of heat, and the great food and drink served up by main sponsor ‘The Stable’ just finishes things off with a bang. Not to be missed.
