So that all events and competitors are covered under the Surfing England insurance, every competitor needs to be a member of both Surfing England and British Longboard Union.
New for 2026 we have introduced a combined Surfing England and BLU membership which means members will have:
This new membership package means members will have:
• Access to the range of discounts offered through Surfing England
• Reassurance that when competing they are covered through SE insurance
• Ability to compete at any BLU event
Non surfers who also want to support the BLU and SE can also join.
Membership runs on an annual basis and the feed are:
Junior Membership (Under 18s) – £20 (includes Surfing England Junior Membership valued at £20)
Adults (18 and over) – £28 (includes Surfing England membership valued at £28)
For all surfers who entered any of the BLU events in 2025 and are Surfing England members: Current membership will be updated and you will be a BLU member for no additional charge for the duration of the SE membership. When you renew during 2026 you will need to select the combined SE and BLU membership option.
For any surfers who are already members of another Surfing England affiliated club, you will also be offered BLU membership at your next renewal. For this to be triggered you need to ensure that you are using the same email for each club membership.
Please note Surfing England membership is required for insurance purposes. If you are a member of another surfing federation such as Welsh Surfing Federation please let us know when entering our events and we can ensure that we correctly reflect your home country surfing federation.
